There are three ways to get involved with South East Adult Education:

  • Join the SEAE-ÉASE Board of Directors
  • Volunteer to assist learners needing extra help
  • Make a donation to SEAE-ÉASE, a registered charitable organization. A receipt will be given for all amounts over $10.

The Nominating Committee is always looking for people interested in literacy and adult learning to be involved as Board members. Board members may be appointed at any time during the year and then ratified at the Annual General Meeting in September. If you have experience in the adult education field or if the reports of the low levels of literacy in New Brunswick concern you, you may be a valuable board member.  If you wish to assist SEAE-ÉASE by volunteering to be on the board please contact the Chair of the Nominating Committee by sending an e-mail to info@education-se.ca or calling 506-857-9912. There is no remuneration for board members.

The committees of the board, Finance, Human Resource Policy, Communications/Marketing, Health and Safety, Facilities and Nominating, may be able to use your talents if you have experience in any of these fields. Committees meet when necessary and may have frequent meetings when a project is undertaken. Contact can be made by e-mail at info@education-se.ca or by phone at 506-857-9912.

Volunteers may be involved in assisting students under the supervision of the classroom teacher. There will be no preparation needed for this classroom help but an interest in adult education would be an asset. A clear criminal record check will be required.  Retired teachers are welcome.
