Student Stories

Ted was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and left home at 14 and after attending schools in Wolfville, left for work in order to support himself. He has worked at various jobs, from Worm Digger to Construction to Call Centre Trainer and Operations Manager.

Ted is married with three young daughters, and enjoys spending time with his family, as well as fishing and hunting.

He started at the John Howard Society’s Open Doors program last December, and wrote his GED exam at the end of April. He plans to start at Oulton’s College this fall to study Child and Youth Care. Ted’s futurecareer plans include opening a Youth Center in the North end of Moncton. The centre will assist youth in developing skills to help them as they mature and become productive adults in society.
